Community Day and Our Drive-Up Food Pantry

We joined forces to help underserved communities. This year, Gospel Tabernacle Church hosted an event dedicated to uplifting families, strengthening neighborhood bonds, and preparing children for a successful 2026 -2027 school year. Reach One Initiative worked with Gospel Tabernacle to bring together businesses, faith-based organizations, families and essential community resources in a central location, to show that we care.

Attendees had access to community resources including fun, games, health screenings, utility assistance, and self-care services.

We purchased an old vacant church on Detroit westside and spent 2 years restoring it to its former glory. We wanted to be in this community to address a need that was being overlooked. Currently, The Gospel Tabernacle Food Pantry provides free groceries to an average of 265 families twice per month at our Drive-Up Food Pantry. The Community Day reflects the same commitment to restoration, service, and unity, demonstrating that we can make a positive difference when we work together.
